The directing, writing, and storytelling were poor, cheapening it from start to finish despite the nice special effects. In terms of direction: there is some neatness to the idea that Alessa would take a cult god and turn it into her own personal protector, but then that god really ought to have been Valtiel, who's twitchy crawlingness is plenty easy enough to make a horror movie phenomenal. Even so, I forgive them the inclusion of PH because he did well in the first one. But then Vincent was gag-worthy, Sean Bean should have died just like Harry in the actual game, the final battle made the Power Rangers cry; And then the *execution* of the whole screenplay was just *bad.* Bad bad bad bad bad. And then there was the "IN 3D" part.

There was some hilarity to how the final battle was resolved by an entity who literally just wandered onto the scene, chopped the Big Bad Evil Lady apart, and then wandered off again...  And some neatness to the idea of Heather Mason harnessing her psychic gifts and using the Seal of the Metatron to trick the cult leader into turning herself into a monster.  Though, let's be fair, if I knew PH was my bud at that part in the movie, I'd be grabbing him by the hand/skirt and dragging him around behind me everywhere to deal with my problems immediately. Like 'screw everybody else, I have THIS THING. Can I take it home? Can it just guard my doorstep for the rest of forever? No cultists are going to F*ck with me now'
